Carol Nesbitt
Glass design artist Carol Nesbitt creates original and functional designs, along with one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces. Having worked in stained glass before moving to blown glass, Carol’s pieces continue to be inspired by nature, particularly the movement of oceans and seas. Carol’s appreciation for glass is expressed during the “hot process” when she creates a variety of organic forms, patterns and colours. Surface textures and interior optics are given special attention with each piece she produces. Carol studied glassblowing for three years at Sheridan College’s School of Craft and Design followed by a one-year independent study program. Her work has been shown in exhibitions and galleries across Canada including most recently at West End Gallery in Victoria, B.C., and the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. Carol is the recipient of such awards as the 1994 Oakville Arts Council Mayor’s Awards, and an Ontario Art Council grant awarded through juried selection in 1996. |
