Eileen Millen
Today, after working with various sculpture media, Eileen has found her niche as a stone sculptor. Working primarily in soapstone, alabaster and marble, her major inspiration is the human head and face as vehicles for expressing emotion. In her pieces Eileen often varies the two sides of the human face to represent life’s conflicts and constraints. Most recently she has experimented with textural variation in her work including leaving parts of the stone rough to enhance the emotional complexity and humanity of each piece. In addition to Sheridan College, Eileen has taken sculpture courses at The Mississauga Sculpture Studio and Fleming College’s Haliburton School of the Arts. |
