Each piece of art created by Artist Jo Walterson captures the essence of flowers, gardens and the everlasting rugged beauty of Ontario’s vast northern locale known as Georgian Bay.

Jo is a painter and printmaker in oil. In creating her art she has revived an old technique employed by the Masters called oil glazing. Oil glazing is a process that consists of applying layers of transparent colours to a canvas to create a spectacular effect.

Having studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Montreal, Jo’s studies further included attending Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario and the Ontario College of Art, located in Toronto, Ontario.

Jo’s work has been exhibited in many solo, juried and group shows at the local, national and international levels. She is represented in private and corporate collections in Kenya, the United States, the U.K., Japan, Philippines, Germany, Kuwait and Australia.
