Art Instruction, Painting & Drawing
Under the tutelage of artist/illustrator Sheri Tenaglia students are provided with a supportive environment to develop artistic skills, creative confidence, and professional portfolios. With a focus on drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the classes helps students strengthen technical abilities while exploring personal artistic expression. Sheri also helps students with specialized portfolio preparation for those pursuing post-secondary studies in art, design, architecture, and related creative disciplines.
To date, Sheri’s students have won over 100 awards in competitions throughout Halton Hills and beyond, received scholarships from universities, sold their work, acquired commissions and received other forms of recognition.

Lorne Winters is a landscape painter who offers two distinct learning opportunities at Williams Mill. His Open Studio Classes provide artists of all skill levels with guidance and support as they work on paintings in progress or begin new projects. Students bring their own materials and receive individualized feedback in a collaborative studio environment.
Lorne also offers painting workshops designed to help artists strengthen their skills through demonstration and observation. By guiding students through the painting process step-by-step, these workshops help build confidence, deepen understanding, and support artistic growth.

Stone Sculpture
Mary Ellen Farrow and Rob Finnie offer one-on-one stone sculpture instruction at Williams Mill for adults interested in exploring the art of stone carving. Designed for beginners and experienced artists alike. Lessons introduce students to carving techniques, tool use, artistic concepts, and the creative process of transforming stone into sculpture. Instruction is tailored to individual goals and experience levels, allowing students to progress at their own pace while working with a variety of stone materials.
Students typically begin with softer stones such as soapstone or alabaster before progressing to more advanced materials, including limestone and marble. Lessons emphasize safety, craftsmanship, and artistic development while providing hands-on experience in a professional sculpture studio.
