Sandra Hayworth

Stone Sculptor

A lifelong artist in various media, I studied fine arts at Morley College of Fine Arts in London, England, and at O.C.A.D. in Toronto.

I lived for 25 years in the Bahamas, where the beautiful scenery and superb light inspired me to paint, and I exhibited my work in many shows at various venues, including a biennial show of “Women in Art”.

For the past eight years I have focussed on sculpture, in clay and stone, under the tutelage of Michael Young and Mary-Ellen Farrow, at the Oakville Art Society and the Williams Mill. I love the physicality of working in stone, and enjoy bringing out the wonderful colour and visual texture hidden in a “lump of rock”!
