Royal Collection Trust Selection

I am over the moon to announce that my watercolour painting “Shadowscape II, Grapes” has been selected for the Royal Collection Trust! A project of The Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (for their 100th Anniversary in 2025), this is the final installment of the Society’s contribution to the Royal Collection Trust. Held at Windsor Castle, England, these paintings will join the original paintings deposited for the society’s 60th Anniversary in 1985, and those gifted for the society’s 75th Anniversary in 2000.

This final collection of 25 paintings (from 86 submitted) was selected by a jury of 15, including special guest jurors Martin Clayton, Head of Prints and Drawings, Royal Collection Trust and Alice de Quidt, Assistant Curator of Prints and Drawings, Royal Collection Trust, along with senior CSPWC Members from across Canada.

Shadowscape II, Grapes” is from the First Fruit Series, watercolours of colourful ripe larger-than-life fruit, fruit still growing in the landscape. Each painting is a close-up of a specific vine or tree, in a single Okanagan Valley orchard owned by my family over 90 years.”

This half-sheet watercolour was painted from my studio and home base for over 30 years.

Congratulations to my fellow artists for their contributions.
