Robbie Simpson is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist who composes tender works through  expressionist portraiture and exploration into fabrication; He works with oil and acrylic, as well as sewing  and crochet. He is currently living in Glen Williams and is completing his BFA in Drawing and Painting at  OCAD University in Toronto. His work was featured in OCAD U’s face2face exhibition, he has  collaborated on murals for the Georgetown Farmers Market and won first place in the Remembrance Arts  Contest for the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 120). Simpson is practicing in Studio 3D in the Williams Mill Creative Art Studios, located outside of the GTA; Where he will be working to curate a solo exhibition  in August 2024.

My art explores the notion of the innate abundance of love in every living thing in order to highlight the  importance of appreciating the little things; finding conventional and unconventionally beautiful things, a  bouquet of flowers or the patterns and colours of a mesh bag of clementine’s, there’s beauty in everything  if you’re looking for it. This is explored through intimate, detailed brush strokes in extremely bright and  colourful portraits. As well as themes of nostalgia and childhood; I believe children have a very admirable  and innocent view of the world, and we could all stand to keep up a little more childlike wonder in our  adult lives. My art is a reflection of who I am at my core; I portray a colourful world in order to cope with  my own mental health as well as to uplift and bring more positivity to others.
